Alexis Rochelle “Lexi” Guzman

Lifelong Harbor resident Alexis Rochelle “Lexi” Guzman died on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2013, due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident. She was 19. Alexis was born July 8, 1994, in Centralia, Washington to Martin Adam Guzman and Tonya Lynn Parnham.

Lexi grew up and attended school in McCleary and Elma. She attended Grays Harbor Community College for one year and was currently enrolled at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia to pursue a degree in nursing. She eventually wanted to become a pediatric oncologist. Lexi was a sales representative for Cutco Cutlery and a ticket agent at Skyline Drive-In Theater near Shelton.

Lexi is a member of the Young Lives Club Praise ensemble from the Grays Harbor Four Square Church in Central Park. She enjoyed spending her spare time with her son and the love of her life, Kayne. Lexi is survived by her son, Kayne Jonathan Grove of McCleary; parents, Tonya (Josh) Nelson of McCleary and Martin Guzman of Lacey; brothers, Mateo Guzman and Ryder Nelson of McCleary; grandparents, Doug and Diane Harvey of Elma, Steve and Cindy Combes of Elma and Lupe Guzman of Aberdeen; as well as numerous cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her uncle, Dewayne Johnson. According to her family, Lexi was a wonderful mother, great sister and daughter. Lexi will be remembered for her radiant smile and generosity to all she touched. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation was on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Whiteside Family Mortuary in Elma. Funeral services were held at the Grays Harbor Four Square Church in Central Park, 4800 Central Park Drive, Aberdeen, Wash. 98520. A potluck reception followed the services at the McCleary VFW Hall. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Our Community Credit Union in McCleary “Alexis Guzman Memorial Fund”. There is a sub-account for Kayne as well.
