MHS celebrates top 12

1. Gabrielle Rudolph

Parents: Abbi and Greg Rudolph of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Valedictorian, National Honor Society, drama club and Knowledge Bowl.

Athletics: Cross country, track.

Plans upon graduating: She plans to attend Emory University in Atlanta, where she will major in biology and compete as an NCAA athlete in cross country and indoor and outdoor track.

2 (tie). Jefferson Donovan

Parents: Jodie and Brad Donovan of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Co-salutatorian, Knowledge Bowl and band.

Athletics: Cross country.

Plans upon graduating: He plant to attend Grays Harbor College for two years, earn his associate’s degree and then he plans to transfer to UW to get a bachelor’s in meteorology. He hopes to continue his schooling to obtain a master’s degree and enter the field of meteorology.

2 (tie). Connor Hatch

Parents: Lisa and David Hatch of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Co-salutatorian, Math team, Honor Society, Knowledge Bowl, Class of 2014 president.

Athletics: Football team manager.

Plans upon graduating: He will go on a two-year Morman Mission, then plans to seek a associate’s degree in funeral service at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon.

3. Marcela Moody

Parents: Leticia and Randy Moody of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Pep club, class treasurer, Honor Society, math team, astronomy club, Knowledge Bowl, SURE club.

Athletics: Drill team.

Plans upon graduating: She plans of attending Gray’s Harbor College to obtain her associate’s degree. She later plans on becoming a flight attendant.

Parents: Guy and Joan Easter of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Knowledge Bowl, math team, Honor Society.

Athletics: Volleyball and tennis.

Plans upon graduating: She plans on attending Grays Harbor College and pursuing a career in the medical field.

4 (tie). LeeAnn Rhoden

Parents: Brad and Jennifer Rhoden of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Knowledge Bowl, math team, Skills USA, art club, Honor Society.

Athletics: Soccer.

Plans upon graduating: She will be attending Cal State Northridge and plans to double major in nutrition and exercise science with a minor in sports psychology. She will be playing soccer for the NCAA Division 1 school.

5. Rayna Ashlock

Parents: Dianne Dowler of Montesano and Andy Ashlock of Hoquiam.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Astronomy club president, Skills USA president, Pep club, ASB representative, Knowledge Bowl. She also enjoys playing cribbage.

Athletics: Soccer, softball and powerlifting.

Plans upon graduating: She will attend Oregon State and major in athletic training.

6. Evan Bialkowsky

Parents: Paul and Lori Bialkowsky of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Knowledge Bowl, Honor Society, ASB representative.

Athletics: Football, basketball, baseball and powerlifting.

Plans upon graduating: He plans to study athletic training at either WSU or Oregon State.

7. Taylor Zillyett

Parents: Kim Zillyett Harris and Jay Zillyett of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: ASB president, SURE club, drama club, Honor Society, Astronomy club and Knowledge Bowl.

Athletics: Football team manager.

Plans upon graduating: He plans to attend WSU to major in business finance.

8. Amberlynn Howell

Parents: D. Shuree Howell of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Phi Theta Kappa, Honor Society, drama club, choir, church, physical fitness and piano.

Athletics: Volleyball.

Plans upon graduating: She will be attending UW to major in biology on the pre-dental track. She plans to go to graduate school at UW or UCLA to earn a doctorate in dental surgery (DDS) and specialize in pediatric orthodontics.

9. Gabriel Spearin

Parents: Les and Sandy Spearin of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Drama club, cross country, band, Knowledge Bowl.

Athletics: Cross country, soccer.

Plans upon graduating: He plans to attend Biola University in Southern California or Grays Harbor College and pursue a degree in engineering. He eventuall want to start his own business.

10. Chazlyn O’Bannon

Parents: Dave and Angi Swinhart of Montesano.

Honors/school activities/clubs: Pep club, ASB leadership, drama club, FCCLA, Skills USA, Knowledge Bowl and math team. She’s also a cook/waitress at The Crow’s Nest.

Athletics: Powerlifting, cheerleading.

Plans upon graduating: She plans on attending Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where she will major in practical ministry and minor in business. She hopes to one day build her own church and travel around and speak. She hopes to travel to Africa.
