3 Satsop School kids get swag from White House

Three students from teacher Susan Davis’ English class at Satsop School recently got rewarded with more than a good grade from an earlier writing assignment.

The class was assigned to write President Obama a letter, asking him about non-political subjects, such as his dogs and his golf game.

To their surprise, three of them — Elizabeth Birks, Mason Boyce and Austin Courts — each later received large envelopes from the White House that included a letter from the president, a picture of him and pictures of his dogs. “I was surprised,” said the 11-year-old Austin, “I’m gonna put it up on my wall.”
