This police blotter is made up of reports made available by the Montesano Police Department.

Jan. 10

Suspicion. Broadway and Academy. 10:41 a.m. An individual reported that a light blue newer Mustang had been “casing” the area and the house behind the alley had items taken from it.

Jan. 12

Suspicious person. 100 Block S. River Street. 3:04 p.m. Individual reported a transient was found looking around a laundry room. The transient was located and said he was looking for cigarettes at the location and would stay away from the building.

Jan. 13

Burglary. 400 Block N. Medcalf Street. 10:09 a.m. Reporting person advised that a checkbook had been taken from his residence while he was out of town. The individual’s bank contacted him telling him a $2,500 check had been cashed from the account.

Malicious mischief. 600 Block E. Pioneer Avenue. 11:18 a.m. An individual found a nail propped up behind his front tire and had a screw and nail imbedded in his rear drivers side tire.

Shoplifting. 100 Block Brumfield Avenue. 6:21 p.m. A male stole a bottle of wine. The individual was issued a citation for theft.

Jan. 14

Hit and run. Marcy and Main. 9:02 a.m. An individual reported that a vehicle was damaged sometime before Christmas.

Suspicious person. 200 Block S. Academy Street. 1:41 p.m. An individual reported the neighbors have moved out and the house is now vacant. The individual believes there is someone living in the outbuilding at night.

Disorderly conduct. 300 Block S. Main Street. 10:02 p.m. Two subjects got into a physical altercation over a dispute about poker. During the scuffle the individuals broke a window.

Jan. 16

Theft. 500 Block N. Adams Street. 8:01 a.m. A vehicle door had been left open and the change cup had been emptied out.

Prowler. 900 Block W. Broadway Avenue. 10:53 p.m. An individual was reportedly trying to get into a house by using the back door. The suspect was found at the location and booked for attempted burglary.

Jan. 19

Disorderly conduct. Main and Pioneer. 1:40 a.m. One female and one male were intoxicated and throwing traffic cones into the street almost hitting vehicles.

Jan. 23

Theft. 600 Block N. 7 Street. 7:21 a.m. Cash was taken from cars overnight.

Theft. 400 Block N. 8 Street. 8:09 a.m. Cash was taken from a vehicle overnight. The vehicle was unlocked.

Theft. 700 Block W. Simpson Avenue. 8:45 a.m. Approximately $1 in change was taken from a vehicle sometime during the night.

Theft. 500 Block N. 8 Street. 8:51 a.m. Vehicles were prowled overnight. Only $2 in change is missing from the vehicles.

Theft. 400 Block N. 8 Street. 4:00 p.m. Individual reports her vehicle was prowled during the night. Nothing was missing.
