The Grays Harbor PUD and the City of McCleary will conduct a planned power outage affecting customers between Elma and McCleary. The outage will begin at about 11:45 p.m. on April 12, and last about 10 hours.
During the outage, PUD crews will perform maintenance work on transmission lines along Elma-McCleary Road and replace five deteriorating power poles.
The outage will impact PUD customers on the Elma-McCleary Road from the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds to the McCleary city limits. All customers on the Cloquallum Road will be impacted, as will customers on the Upper Falls Creek Road, Bush Creek Road, Powers Creek Road and customers on Stamper Road from Cloquallum Road to Upper Falls Creek Road.
All customers on Elma Hicklin Road will be impacted, as will customers on Heise Road, Rosemary Lane North and South and McKnight Road.
PUD officials advise customers to take precautions with any electronic equipment such as computers, televisions and microwaves by unplugging the items and leaving them disconnected until after the power has been fully restored.
The outage time is only an estimate and power could be restored at any time as work is completed. Therefore, it is not safe to do electrical work or repairs during that period of time.
