The Timberland LIbrary in Montesano will open up one hour later beginning Sept. 1.
The hours change is part of a broader change across the library system, which changes hours at all of Timberland’s libraries. The eight libraries operated by Timberland on the Harbor will be open a total of 13 more hours per week. “This increase has no budget impact as it’s accomplished through adjusting staff schedules and reducing staff time when libraries are closed,” Timberland spokesman Jeff Keingartner said. “This expansion in hours is a response to feedback from the public at community meetings and online surveys. The focus was to bring as many open hours for the public as is possible given no additional budget impact and establish as possible consistent opening times.”
The Montesano library will be open an hour later from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays. Aberdeen will stay open an hour later on Fridays until 6 p.m. — a traditionally busy time for Aberdeen.
Other library hour changes will be announced in August.
