Four teenage boys were arrested yesterday evening in connection with a burglary at the Brady Food Mart in Brady early Tuesday morning, the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were dispatched to the grocery store just after 4 a.m. Tuesday regarding a burglary that occurred sometime over the night. After reviewing video surveillance, investigators saw two males in their late teens to early 20s had entered at about 12:45 a.m. and taken a number of items before fleeing, a press release stated.
Later that morning, the Montesano Police Department responded to a report of a runaway. The parents said their teenage son didn’t come home the night before. Clothing information on the runaway boy was similar to one of the suspects in the burglary.
Deputies also responded, and investigators learned the teen had been with three other boys. Officers and deputies continued to look for the boys throughout the day. None had been to school.
At about 5:20 p.m., a concerned citizen called to report four boys walking in the 100 block of Monte Brady Road in Montesano.
A Sheriff’s Office detective responded with a Monte officer and contacted the boys, eventually finding concluding they were involved in the Brady Food Mart burglary.
All four were arrested and interviewed before being released to their parents. A report will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office recommending burglary charges for all four, according to the press release.
Three were 15-year-old Montesano High School students, the other was a 16-year-old Aberdeen High School student.
