An Aberdeen man was sentenced to 30 days in jail over a crash that seriously injured three of his friends.
David J. Cole, now 21, pleaded guilty to three counts of vehicular assault and was sentenced Monday in Grays Harbor Superior Court. Each count carries a 30-day sentence to be served concurrently.
On April 1, 2012, Cole missed a turn on Wynooche-Wishkah Road and his car went tumbling over an embankment, falling roughly 100 feet.
His passengers initially walked away from the wreck, but were later found to have internal injuries. A 22-year-old Aberdeen woman suffered a broken nose, collapsed lung, a kidney laceration, three fractured ribs and a fractured shoulder, her 19-year-old brother had a broken arm and a 21-year-old Montesano woman had fractures in her skull and spine and a liver laceration.
