Dianna Beste has brought what she hopes is a much-needed boutique to Elma, specializing in children’s clothing and accessories.
Besties Boutique is located at 322 W. Main St. in Elma. Beste, 25, the former owner of Rowdy Rhinestones, also in Elma, women’s boutique, said she sold the former shop to focus on her new interest, inspired by her own kids, a 2-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl.
“It’s actually going real well, better than I thought,” Beste said of her new store, which opened March 1. “It’s something Elma really needs, I’ve been told. Now that I have kids, this is more my passion than women’s fashion now. It’s more fun to dress up my kids than it is myself.”
The 2006 graduate of Elma High School says if things go well she may even expand the now-1,600-square-foot store as there is plenty of room for that in the retail space she is renting.
“We also have enough space that we’ve put in a little playroom so the kids can play while the parents shop,” she said. “And it’s all hand-made clothing, all new — none of it is used.”
Brands she carries include Bloom N Sticks Creations, Lela and Flair 4 Hair, among others.
“Those are some of the major brands I carry and they’ve all been a huge hit here,” Beste said.
Apparel is available from newborn to about size 16 juniors, with a mix of boys’ and girls’ attire.
“It’s definitely half and half, and I get very nice new clothes. None of it’s going to be consignment or second-hand,” Beste said. “And I can order many items specifically for customers,” she added.
Hours for Besties are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call the store at (360) 482-0088. The store’s website is at Besties-Boutique.com or at bestiesboutiquestore on Facebook.
