Former Montesano resident Jered Seifert and Elaine del Castillo of El Segundo, Calif., are engaged and planning to marry Oct. 4 during an evening cruise aboard the yacht, Newport Princess, in Newport Beach, Calif.
Seifert proposed to his fiancé at Inspiration Point on Sandstone Peak in the Los Angeles area.
He is the son of Jon and Holly Seifert, was born on Grays Harbor and attended Montesano High School and Grays Harbor College. He graduated from the University of Washington with bachelor’s degrees in pulp and paper engineering and chemical engineering and a master’s degree in chemical engineering. He is a process control engineer for Chevron in El Segundo.
The bride to be is the daughter of Raul and Epifania del Castillo of Hollywood, Calif., and graduated from California State University Northridge with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in environmental and occupational health. She also works for Chevron as a safety and industrial hygiene team lead.
The couple currently lives in El Segundo.
