Thanksgiving was a busy day for many. Ed and Jean Comfort hosted the family dinner at their home. Family members enjoying a Thanksgiving dinner and birthday celebration were: Red and Barb Tarman, Jim, Missy, Bryson and Baylee Crisp, Dave, Sheri and Christy Russell, and Christy’s friend, Josh Russell and his friend Heather, and Bob and Julie Hunt and their children. Birthdays celebrated were Missy Crisp, Christy Russell and Tyson Hunt.
The Wilder family had dinner at Earl and Linda Wilder’s home. Linda said about 16 family members joined them for dinner. They enjoyed a phone call with grandsons Chaz Wilder and Bill McCormick who live in North Dakota. Mark and Francine Carpenter enjoyed dinner at Francine’s parent home in Milton.
MaryJo Bohren enjoyed dinner and the day at her son, Daryl Bohren’s home in Tenino. Jim and I hosted dinner at our home with all our children, Jim, Shawn, Ben, Jake and Rylie Borden, Mike and Stacy Turner and Bob Borden joining us. Our friend Sandy Vanmeter also joined us for dinner. I hope everyone had as nice of a Thanksgiving as our family had. This is a day I am so very Thankful to have all my family living close by. Now, it is time to put myself in the Christmas mood and get the decorations out, tree put up and lights put up outside. I see so many already have their lights and decorations up. Hopefully this next week I will get started.
Sunday morning at the Satsop Methodist Church, Angie Patton and Abby Combs hosted the morning breakfast. They are 16 and 17 years old. I doubt very much I would have offered to fix breakfast at that age. They did a fantastic job. Thanks girls.
Pastor K led the Sunday service. Mark Carpenter lit the candles. Abby Combs put coins in for her birthday and for her grandpa, Earl Wilder’s birthday. The Elma/Satsop Choir sang the song “Is Your Heart Prepared For A King?” Pastor K read the scriptures. Prayers were asked for the Ed Fry family. Francine Carpenter asked for prayers for healing for her sister, Mary. Continued prayers for Bill Goeres as he continues his treatment for cancer. Prayers were asked for all the travelers during this Thanksgiving holiday. Joys: Money was sent to Fifi and her family in Haiti. Joy of time with family and friends on this Thanksgiving holiday. Mark Carpenter and Abby Combs collected the offering. Elma/Satsop Choir sang “Invitation to Communion” and Bruce Straughn helped Pastor K with communion.
