The Oakville Globe says that Attorney Hutcheson, of this city, who delivered the Fourth of July address at t hat place, was introduced by the marshal. Great Ceasar, Hutcheson, how did that happen?

For some unaccountable reason, Deputy Auditor Tarr was cutting wood the other morning, and probably fro the novelty of the exercize did not wield the axe very gracefully. Result — a cut foot.

A petition is being circulated, and generally signed, asking the commissioners to appoint L.B. Bignold as justice of the peace, in place of W.T. Beck, resigned. Such an appointment would meet with the approval of the pepole of this city.

Parties so desiring may pay their subscription to this paper in wood.
