Golden Trio presents farewell concert

Montesano music instructor Christine Hill’s Golden Trio will put on its final farewell concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, inside the auditorium at Aberdeen High School.

The Golden Trio consists of Cora Foss, a graduate of Hoquiam High School, and Libby Carrico and Keola Holt, recent graduates of Aberdeen High School. Hill says Holt will be leaving later this month to attend BYU-Hawaii and the ladies would like to present one final concert together before she departs. Admission is free.

The Golden Trio is well-known in the Montesano area, having performed at several fundraisers and concerts.

All three have been members of 7th Street Kids, and all three have had several lead roles in musical theater productions at the Bishop Center and their high schools. The Golden Trio has been together for three years and has performed at the Young Artist Showcase in 2012 and 2013, several church services and luncheons, Grays Harbor College faculty/staff party, the Montesano Festival of Lights, the Montesano Chamber Awards Banquet, the Polson Museum Holiday open houses 2012 and 2013, Ocean Beach Roasters, the Grays Harbor Music Teachers Association’s “Musicale 2013” scholarship benefit concert, and the trio was the opening act for the following: “The King Brothers” at the Aberdeen Elks and at the Portland, Oregon, Seafood and Wine Festival, Alice Tan Ridley at the D&R Theatre and “Three Dog Night” at the D&R Theatre.

In addition, Hill will present summer recitals at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen. The church is located at the corner of Second and Broadway in Aberdeen.

Performing at 3 p.m. —Ken Albert, Shayli Burlingame, Libby Carrico, Michael Fagerstedt, McKenna Hansen, Analei Holt, Keola Holt, Ender Johnson, Lauren Wonacott and The Golden Trio.

Performing at 7 p.m. — Ken Albert, Kyle Brewer, Kendall Cavin, Chris Fruto, Anna Hagen, Keola Holt, Ken McDonald, Rebecca Meacham and Anna Weber.

A reception will follow each performance.
