Classes and demonstrations

• Grays Harbor County Extension will present a session on preserving homegrown and farm fresh produce. 2-4 p.m. This program is designed for adults looking for expert advice, answers to questions and the latest tips in time for the harvest and canning season. • Brilliant Moon will host a cooking class “Whole Grain Rice, Barley, Bulgar.” ?? to ?? • Hoquiam Timberland Library presents “Community Helpers: What’s It Like to be on a Search and Rescue Team?” 2-3 p.m. Volunteers from West Coast Search Dogs and their trained dogs will be at the library to talk about what they do when on a rescue mission. • Montesano Timberland Library presents “Family Story Time,” 10:30-11 a.m. All ages are welcome to come join in a program of stories, rhymes, songs and movement games that focus on children age 6 and younger. Montesano Timberland Library, 125 S. Main St., Montesano.

• McCleary Bear Festival. The festival features a carnival, games, and, of course, the bear stew — although the stew is served up the next day. Last year, on Friday, the festival featured a softball game between police officers and firefighters, known as “Guns and Hoses.” The festival takes place at Beerbower Park in downtown McCleary.

• Montesano Timberland Library presents “Stuffed Animal Sleepover.” Children can bring a favorite stuffed toy animal for a sleepover at the library. Tuck your animal in and say goodnight, then come back the next day to pick up you friend and find out what mischief the animals got into during the night at the library. • The All-American Boys Chorus will perform at the Raymond Theatre. 2 p.m. This 30-member ensemble, whose members range from 9 to 14 years old, will performa a concert entitled “An American Musical Journey.” The concert includes music ranging from Broadway tunes to The Beach Boys to songs from the Big Band era. • Artwalk. This celebration in the heart of downtown Aberdeen provides a day of fun and entertainment for art lovers and car enthusiasts. The event will include artists and crafters set up throughout downtown Aberdeen. An artists reception will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday followed by a street dance until 9 p.m.
